Lonni H. Rivera is a passionate yogi who discovered the healing benefits of yoga in Austin, Texas.  While working as a TV journalist there, Lonni took a class to find some stillness and peace after stressful work days in the news business. That first class in 2003 near the University of Texas campus was a defining moment. Since then, she has practiced in studios all over the United States and abroad.  She considers her teaching style to be playful and soulful with slow mindful movements for all levels. Lonni completed 3 teacher trainings through Yoga Alliance. The first in 2016,  200 hours called Roots to Wings at Yoga Shala with Michael Fong and Tristina Kennedy in Sacramento, California. Yoga Shala is an alignment based studio that offers Vinyasa Flow.  The second in 2016 in the Los Angeles area at Soul Play yoga with former Senior Yogaworks instructor Thomas Taubman and Kate Stone. It focused on Iyengar and Vinyasa.

Lonni enjoys offering karma yoga to underprivileged communities and hosting yoga classes and retreats. She’s excited to be back in her hometown of Pittsburgh. Its an opportunity to bring her west coast vibe and fun loving nature to the Pittsburgh yoga  community. Her passion for storytelling and yoga inspired the launch of a website and blog called www.yogastory.org. The site shares the yogi lifestyle to inspire, inform and spread love.  Her Instagram handle is @Lonsyogastory.

Lonni enjoys spending weekends practicing outdoor yoga , traveling and trying new restaurants.
